Situated on 10 acres of gorgeous beach on the Placencia Peninsula, Rum Point Inn is one of, if not the first beachfront resort in Southern Belize. The Bevier family started the resort in 1974 and have been catering to their values guests ever since. There are 22 guest accommodations ranging from (12) 900 sq. ft. air-conditioned luxury Garden Suites complete with 2 queen size or one king size bed, seating area, over sized tiled bath, ceiling fans, refrigerators, safe and coffee maker to (10)..........(10) concrete-sculpted domed cabanas. Each cabana offers either 2 queen sized or 1 king size bed, with sofa hide-a-beds and are decorated with indigenous hard wood furniture and colorful custom made Guatemalan fabrics. The Garden Suites can be connected via private doors to accommodate larger groups. The grounds are well landscaped with walkways meandering through tropical plants and exotic flowers and there is always a chair or chase lounge to relax in. The Inn boasts one of the largest expanses of beautiful white sandy beaches on the peninsula. Informal luxury is the feeling generated on the property which transcends from the stylish guest rooms to the old colonial Main lodge where one can be engrossed in some choice reading material in the library or indulge one's self with a soothing massage or laze around the tranquil pool surroundings. For more active entertainment there is always a chance to go for a fishing Grand Slam which is composed of catching a Permit, Tarpon, and a Bonefish or if one would rather swim with the fish than catch them, scuba diving is available off of the resort's jet boat, the Auriga II and perchance spot the majestic whale sharks that some to Southern Belize in the months of April, May and June. A referral service is available for scuba training and snorkeling from the resort. There are also inland excursions available to visit the world's only Jaguar Reserve, treks to the numerous Mayan archaeological sites, as well as the very popular Monkey River boat trip.
