Marseilles airports.La Lausiero was built in 1801, with many of the original features unchanged such as the woodframe windows and shutters with cast iron metal latches. This is NOT a 'Villa' which by it's 'style' could be located in any warm weather part of the world. This is a carefully renovated typical 'Bergerie' with open beamed ceilings in every room, terra-cotta tile floors, old wooden doors. The walls are stucco covered stone 1 meter thick in the original section of the house.All the bedrooms are located on the 2nd floor. There are 2 sets of stairs one goes to three cozy sweet bedrooms with a full bathroom at the end of the hall. bedrooms have windows facing a distant but distinct view of the sea. At the other end of the house (quite separate from the other bedrooms) up another set of stairs coming from the formal dining/library TV room, is a large master bedroom with wash sink (it would easy to add a bidet and shower unit).The second bathroom (on the ground floor) has a shower/WC room and a separate wash sink with an outside door direct from the pool for changing. The living room has very old floor tiles and a traditional provence open fireplace and The kitchen has windows facing east, south and north and has the original brick counter-top cooking fireplace (very romantic) & with 2 ceramic sinks. The land is natural and unfenced without formal gardens giving complete privacy in wild Provencial beauty every where is wild rosemary, thyme, and lavender the scent after a rain or even an evening walk is pungent, heavenly. There are 12 km of walking trails and horseback riding only 1/2 km nearby but there are no close neighbors nor can you see any houses. Deer, pheasant and wild boars can be seen on early morning walks. There is a resident Owl and a pair of Falcons living on the land. You can hear them both daily. A young Olive Orchard is in the proccess of being planted and their years of growth can be enjoyed from La Lausiero. One can, after a busy, noisy hot day at the beach or shopping, come home to the ridge top refuge of La Lausiero, sit by the pool with a drink, feel the refreshing wind from the pines....and well....just sit. ***********ABOUT THE AREA***********Village: Le Beausset is a little agricultural town, with a central square in which one can enjoy a cup of coffee and a croissant under the shady plane trees. There is a good selection of shops and restaurants, two large supermarkets, and a weekly market (on Fridays) which is excellent for local produce - Very fresh fish, fruit and vegetables, olives and cheeses. Things to do at the house or within 15 Kms of the house: Fishing, wine tasting, sitting doing nothing, beach sitting doing nothing , sailing, surfing, scuba diving, water skiing, hiking, climbing, relaxing sitting doing nothing with drink in hand, paragliding, horse riding, golf, tennis, festivals, casino, eating, eating, eating, and dozing after eating. Sea and Sun: The sea is 15 minutes drive away. Les Lecques and Bandol are small ports with excellent water sports facilities, sandy beaches, bars and nightclubs. Luxury yachts and Sailboats can be chartered, and daily boat trips are offered in Bandol along the dramatic coastline to Marseilles. Secluded rocky beaches can also be found for picnicking and snorkeling. Bandol, Cassis, and Les Lecques contain golden beaches where you can either sunbathe or get involved with watersports ranging from water-skiing and windsurfing through to scuba diving.
